Picnics and Castles

One of my favorite things this summer has been spending time with my family and seeing more of Northern Ireland.

A couple weeks ago my thoughtful husband planned a picnic for us! He even got up early and made sandwiches and packed a yummy lunch!

We drove around and ended up having our picnic here by this castle.

We ate our lunch with the old ruins on one side and a beautiful view over the water on the other.

Audley's Castle was built near the end of the middle ages.

Our picnic got cup short when it started to rain on us!

We took a ferry across to Portaferry.

Here it comes...

On the way home the weather had cleared up again so we stopped at the Donaghadee harbor to see the lighthouse and boats.

My guys...

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Can you believe it's August?

I was totally expecting sand castles. What a pleasant surprise to see these beautiful relics! How fun this family trip must've been for you all. And I agree with the previous poster, love the last shot of the boys.

Thanks for your kind comments!
I love the last shot of the boys too... Elijah just loves his little brother and is always trying to touch him or hold him.

Hi Melissa! How fun. We love picnics. You have a beautiful family!! And the countryside is amazing there!

Thanks for helping me share Baby Cooper's story. He is so precious to me! He is such a fighter. I was out of town for a couple days so sorry I didn't get right back to you. Did you get to check out the jewelry? All the scentsy products are really great too.

What a beautiful day you had! It sounds like something our family would love...when can I come!? j/k!! :) My cousin and her hubby did a little backpacking excursion in Ireland a couple years ago for their belated honeymoon, and they had a blast! So these photos look pretty familiar to me! We genuinely hope to take a trip there ourselves one day.

Have a blessed week!
