Welcoming Baby Cannon

We met Adam and Amy a year ago shortly after they had moved to Anchorage.

Since then we've shared meals together, laughed, cried, and played many games of Settlers. They are a pretty special couple and we've really enjoyed getting to know them this year.

We were thrilled when they shared that they were going to be welcoming a baby into their family come April. Today we celebrated Cannon Elijah with a little party.

It wasn't your typical baby shower. We opened it up to the whole family and had a Saturday morning Open House brunch.

"So blessed today by our friends throwing us a baby shower to celebrate sweet Cannon! We're so thankful for everyone who came and the thoughtfulness of the people God has put in our lives.
It's a wonderful thing to know that your baby is loved!" ~Amy

Around the room we had some fun little activities for guests to do like Guess the Due Date and sign a onesie. Of course I forgot to take pictures of the after product! It was fun to see everyone's guesses and signatures on that little onesie. This little baby boy IS loved already by so many.

Another activity was decorating a bib or onesie and writing messages to mommy and daddy on diapers. I wish I'd gotten some pictures of the cute and creative designs people came up with.

I also put out some games like checkers and card games.

It was a lot of fun!

Some guests stopped in for a quick hello but most people came and hung out for a most of the morning.

One of Amy's friends made this cute diaper cake! I like how she gave a nod to Adam's profession as an air plane mechanic.

"So thankful to this beautiful friend of mine for hosting our shower and for loving us so well. Her family kindly welcomed us to Anchorage a year ago and has been a huge source of encouragement to us!" ~Amy

Yes, I totally stole her pictures and quotes off Facebook. It was a special day and her words are a gift and I want to remember it always. :)

I can't WAIT to hold this little guy and be his adopted Alaskan Auntie since his real Aunties live so far away.

Thank you Aunt Deanna! It was a lot of fun. I just wanted them to have a special day and for the guests to relax and enjoy time together.

During the planning stages i often thought of you and your talent for parties. I was wishing i could borrow you and your party planning expertise. :)
