January 10th

I'd better to a bit of catching up here!

Saturday, January 10th, we took a drive up to Wasilla and then south again to Mackenzie Point. Just following where the road led us and making stops here and there where ever caught our fancy,

A sign we never saw in Florida.

Yes, Elijah is in short sleeves. The sun was strong and quite warm.

Love the blue sky!

You can see Anchorage across those trees and little bit of water. There is no bridge though so to get to this spot we had to drive up to Wasilla, around the Knik Arm of the Cook Inlet and then down to this point. Even though we can see Anchorage from here it took us two hours to drive here. It's a beautiful area with lots of land for sale. Maybe one day we'll have our own land out here? :)
Hopefully they'll build a bridge soon!

They are building a railway extension out here and we're standing on the top of the railroad bank.
There's not tracks in yet.

It made a fun spot for a bit of sledding.

 Love my guys!

The golden hour.

To top off the day we met up with our friends Paul and Jessica who live in Wasilla and enjoyed some yummy Mexican food for dinner.

We hadn't had Mexican since we moved last April!

Being so far from Mexico I was surprised when we got here to see how many Mexican restaurants there are around.
