Sight Word Shake

One of my very favorite blogs is a wonderful site called I Can Teach My Child!

I came across it at a time when I was beginning to wonder if i really could teach my child. 

Yes, we have those days too. :)

We found this game called Sight Word Shake to help with our reading time.

It changed things up and gave E a break from his regular reading lessons.

You can print out everything you need for this including the top 100 sight words list here.

We cut out the words and put them in a jar and let Elijah shake and pour out some of the words.

The ones that landed right side up he would read and the ones that landed upside down he didn't have to read.

Then put the back in the jar for another sake and pour.

 You could come up with some other games for this too, i'm sure.

Tonight is my first Lilla Rose home party. My mom is my first hostess. She has been a great support in this new business of mine. She's been wearing her headband and flexi and telling everyone she meets about Lilla Rose. Mom's are awesome! :)
