Procrastinating

Ok, i should be starting dinner about now. But since i have no idea what to do with the package of thin sliced beef defrosting on my counter i'm going to ignore it. =)

After posting all about Elijah this morning I realize it's the 15th. And that means my baby is another month older! Ethan is a 9 months old today!

So in honor of this momentous occasion I decided to take some 9 month old photos. So we set up a white background in the living room trying to take advantage of what little natural light this very gray day was giving us through our big living room window.

You want to see how that went?

Ok, here's how it went...

Ethan sat still for about .02 seconds before high tailing it towards me...

(i actually like this picture even though it's blurry)

He was more interested in trying to take mama down then smiling for the camera...

Elijah thinks that my professionally, ha ha!, draped background makes a great tent...

So we finally got Ethan to sit still by putting him in his rocking horse. That worked but the lighting was still wasn't great...

Oh well, you can't win all the time. We picked everything up, put the living room back together and gave Ethan his nap.

And then five minuets ago with no preparation what so ever i got some of my favorite Ethan photos ever!

That I'll show you tomorrow.

I guess it just goes to show you that you can't stage it. The best pictures come from capturing those special moments.

Now... what should i make for dinner?

what a handsome one he is!

and btw- i actually like the last one... even though you say the light wasn't great... the way the shadows are casting their selves almost makes it look like a painting.. pretty cool i thought!

I love that pic, too! It's actually a perfect example of how to use blurring effectively in photos, Liss!

And how about beef stroganoff? Good over rice (for Geoff) or noodles (for the gluten eaters.) It's Patrick's fav!

absolutely hilarious--this is what happened to me and C when she was about 9-months old, too! We were trying to make an I heart Faces shoot and it was chaotic at best :) But makes for fun memories!
