Thank you so much to those who prayed for our meeting last night. I have to say, you all must have some mighty powerful prayers! When it came time to speak in church last night, i wasn't nervous at all! And that is saying something, my friends!
Geoff, Elijah and I went up to the front and Geoff introduced us and shared our plans. That we hope to be here for a year then I'll finish my training with NTM. Then I shared my testimony. I had it all written out in case i got up there and my mind went blank. But as it went I didn't really even need to look at the papers. I think it went well. There were a couple things i forgot to mention but I got most of it across. Then Elijah and I sat down and Geoff spoke some more. He did a good job. I was proud of him.
Then our pastor Mr. Smylie spoke for a while. He talked about how sometimes we face disappointments in our lives. But God is still leading in those times. When God closes a door we can't open that door again and when God opens a door we can't close it. He shared how we can learn to spell disappointments with an h. "His-appointments". God uses our disappointments to lead and direct us. It was really encouraging.
Another big praise is that Elijah sat with me in the pew for the whole service! That was huge! When we first got here I had to take him out during the first 15 minuets because of him acting up. Last Sunday he made it through half an hour or so, right up to the sermon. Then last night he made it through the whole service with only minor distractions. He's learning. Although last night I think it had some thing to do with the raisins his Nana sent with him for church. They kept him quiet and busy for a while. =)
After church the ladies served tea and sandwiches along with a whole bunch of cookies, cakes and other goodies. It gave us time to spend talking to those there. It really helped. I feel like I'm slowly learning their faces and names.
It's amazing, but i can actually say I ENJOYED last night! =) I know this won't be the last time we'll be doing something like this. We'll be speaking and sharing to other groups in the years to come. But this gave me hope that it can be a good time of sharing, and not something to dread.
Thanks again for those of you who took the time to say a prayer for us. It really helped.

Oh Melissa, I am so happy it went so well! God is good! I really like that we need to spell disappointment as "His-appointments!" Thats an awesome way to look at it, puts it into perspective.
