I have to admit, I was very annoyed all morning. Still am i guess. This morning the health inspector lady phoned and said she was coming out to our house today and would 4 o'clock be good? Since when are you allowed to call up perfect strangers and invite yourself to their homes?! I value my privacy and don't relish the idea of opening my home and life up to a stranger who is going to (a.) ask me questions about my personal life (b.)tell me things I already know about kids (c.) try to convince me to do things I don't want to do with my kids and (d.) give me ridiculous advice about raising kids. None of which i feel is her business! But I just smiled and nodded and hoped she'd leave and not come back. But no... she tells me that when the baby is born in January she'll be back out to "check" on me and the baby will continue to do so until the child starts going to school! Honestly, I've got plenty of help and support from both sides of my family not to mention all my friends. If i needed help, i'd ask them for it! I'm defiantly not going to go ask advise from a stranger who tells me to "just ignore" my two year olds temper tantrums because "they are normal". Ohh, my head hurts!

Wow! Who is this lady and why is she coming to your house?? Is this something they do with midwifing or Ireland?? I am a bit confused, but I can tell its an annoying thing....

It has nothing to do with midwifery. They have the same thing in FL. It's called Healthy Start. It's a government agency but in FL at least it's optional.

oh my goodness! i'm so sorry that you have to listen to that! i don't mind getting good sound Biblical advice from friends and family, but that doesn't sound like good advice and from a stranger non-the-less?!
i can't wait to hear about your next visit--if it's a girl or boy--i'm so happy for y'all! :) :)

lol!!! i know it's not a laughing matter...but wow!

yeah, i would think it's a nice option for mom's, maybe FIRST time moms..but like i said, OPTION!

that totally sucks for you! can you ask them to please stop? that you appreciate it, but no thanks???? : /

on another note... temper tantrums are better to ignore. i know that sounds odd!!!!!! and it's sooo hard to do! but it's been proven for many reasons....

do some research on that one. ;)

do you like supernanny? i follow a lot of her advice...and that's great. but of course there's more out there as well....

i hope you're doing well today!

love,
anna
