Soaking up the Sunshine and Blue Skies

This week has been a joy. I'm so thankful that we keep things simple and don't over schedule our days. Twice already this week we've been able to do last minute things with friends.

Monday morning Amy texted and asked if we wanted to meet up at the library and park later and we said yes! It turned out to be such a gorgeous afternoon with blue skies and the leaves are so amazing right now.

Tuesday as we were heading to a friends house for a morning visit I got a text from my friend Sarah asking if the boys and I wanted to meet up after lunch and go geocaching. Sarah is moving out of state soon so I was really glad we were able to do this with her before she leaves.

Geocaching is an outdoor activity where you use GPS app on your phone find hidden containers, called "geocaches" or "caches". Inside you'll find a list of names and dates that others have found the cache and sometimes if the container is large enough you'll find small objects and toys. You can take an item from a cache as long as you leave something in it's place. Sometimes it's really hard to find them! They are hidden all over the world! So fun! And it was another beautiful afternoon.

A large bull moose crossed the path in front of us.

Here's Sarah teaching the boys how to use the GPS and what to look for when geocaching.

And they've found their very first one!

And their second one!

We found three caches total.

Today no one has texted yet so I guess we'll have to stay home and do school. :)

What are you up to this week?

I had lunch with a friend on Monday after we did school, and then we had Kamryn spend the night. Kay's been fighting a cold, and with a week left in her pregnancy she is tired, too. Tuesday, my parents came over and so did Emma. She's due in three days. Today, I took a friend from church who is remarrying her exhusband, to look at flowers and to plan out lots of details for her wedding in three weeks! Today we have co-op and Friday we have school and grocery shopping.
