Feb 17th ~ From Anchorage to Fairbanks

Today we're all a little sad.

Rachel left early this morning to head back to Northern Ireland.
What a fun time we had with her while she was here!
Now that she's left Alaska feels so far away again.

Geoff went back to work this morning. Today we'll get the house back in order. Read aloud together one of the new books we picked up at the bookstore yesterday. Try to do a bit of school. Enjoy the blue sky and sunshine.

And do a bit of catching up on the blog. :)

Last week on Tuesday the 17th we drove six hours north to Fairbanks.
With views like these I felt we could drive forever.

Denali National Park.

We checked into our hotel and went out to dinner at the most delicious Thai restaurant.
If you're ever in Fairbanks be sure to visit Pad Thai Restaurant.

Our hotel had an Aurora wake up call. They promised they would call our room if the Northern Lights came out. It was just before 10pm when we got the call that we could see the lights from the front parking lot!

A great introduction to Fairbanks. :)
