Sunday Mornings

These children are such a joy.

I had such a good time in the nursery with them on Sunday morning.

Jennifer did a great job with the kids and keeping their attention with the story.

I don't know what it's like at your church but at mine we are always looking for more help with Sunday School and the nursery.

I can understand why people don't volunteer. Sunday is their day off, their day of rest. They've spent all week working at their job some even teaching school and don't feel like they can give up their Sunday too.

Or it could be that they are already working and volunteering some where else on Sunday mornings.

We have the set up crew, people welcoming at the doors, people at the counter offering coffee, the sound, worship team... so many people are already working hard to make the service time run smoothly and we so appreciate them. I bet they are always looking for more help too! :)

Currently for Ethan's class we only have two teachers. So that means those teachers miss out on going to the service half the year! If they're lucky they get to go to church twice a month. That's not right, they are leading our kids, teaching our kids. We need them getting spiritually feed as well so they can offer it on to our children.

I do understand, people don't want to over-commit. But if we all pitched in to help then it would lighten the load on everyone. If we had just a few more helpers then we'd only have to miss church once a month or so.

Would you consider volunteering at your church? You have an opportunity to bless the parents of these little ones by allowing them to go to the service and focus on what the Lord has for them to hear.

I bet i'm "preaching to the choir" here aren't I? I know many of you who visit this little blog of mine are already serving in some way. Thank you for what you do.

This is for you:
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9

That is one issue we don't have at our church! The families all stay together for Sunday School and Church and the kids do great! It is wonderful to worship together and I get teary-eyed listening to their precious voices raised in song or prayer.

The kids are a full part of our church - they share prayer requests and even pray during prayer time for the needs of others.

It is a different way of doing church, but so good. The families are together worshipping the Lord!

Some of the most influential people in my life have been those who invested in my early years in Sunday School. This led to mentoring during teen years because relationships were already developed. My parents were believers, and did a great job in teaching me the Word of God, but I definitely believe my spiritual development was greatly enhanced by those others who built into my life. I am forever grateful!
