Missionary Spotlight ~ Gospel for Asia

"May you allow God to use your life to change the destiny of millions through your prayers and partnership with our national brothers and sisters. A hundred years from now, you will be glad you did!” - K.P. Yohannan

A month long festival called Kumbh Mela is being held in India right now. Millions of pilgrims will come from around the world to dip themselves and bath in the filthy Ganges river. Why? They believe that if they do so their sins will be forgiven.

Some Facts:
The Kumbh Mela festival takes place from January 27-February 25.
During this time 80-100 million pilgrims will gather at the Ganges River in hopes of finding forgiveness of sins and earning eternal life.
The last time the Kumbh Mela happened, 45 people were trampled while trying to go to the Ganges.

All this just for the chance of having their sins forgiven. It reminds me of the song "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus".

Prayer Points:
Please pray for these pilgrims to find the forgiveness only Jesus offers.
Pray that spiritual eyes would be opened.
Pray for missionaries to have opportunities to share love of Jesus.
Pray for the physical protection for each of the pilgrims.
Pray for the Gospel for Asia workers who are in India sharing the love of Christ and sharing how they can truly have their sins forgiven. Not by bathing in a filthy river but by placing their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
