Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a crawler!
He's been scooting around on his belly for a while but now he's finally figured out how to get his back half to keep up with the front!
Good morning everyone on this lovely Saturday!
I know a lot of you out there are coffee lovers like me.
Go visit Karen's blog to enter her birthday giveaway! You could win one of these...
No, you can't win the curly headed kid! You can win what's in his hands. She's giving away a bag of delicious Rwandan coffee!
This coffee has a story behind it. You can read more about it by clicking here.
Even if you don't like coffee, go wish Karen a happy birthday. Or try out some of her yummy recipes.
Just a little background info for ya. When we lived in Florida Geoff worked for Karen's husband doing trees. Then we started going to the bible study they held in their home. She always made us feel so welcome.
Thanks Karen! I hope you have a very special birthday next week!
My mom would pick a good book out and read it aloud to our family when we were growing up.
One of the books she read to us was The Hiding Place. The true story of Corrie Ten Boom.
A few days ago i found this little book tucked away in Granny's bookcase. I'm rereading it now and i'm finding there's so much wisdom packed into this little book.
I just read the part where Corrie is in her early twenties and just found out that the love of her life is engaged to some one else. She was crushed! She runs up to her room at the top of the odd little house and cries.
Her father comes up the stairs to talk to her. She hears him coming and is afraid he'll say "There'll be someone else soon." In her heart she knows that's not true.
But that's not what he tell her.
Instead he says "Corrie, do you know what hurts so very much? It's love. Love is the strongest force in the world, and when it is blocked that means pain.
There are two things we can do when this happens. We can kill the love so that it stops hurting. But then of course part of us dies too. Or. Corrie, we can ask God to open up another route for that love to travel.
God loves Karel, even more than you do, and if you ask Him, He will give you His love for this man, a love nothing an prevent, nothing destroy. Whenever we cannot love in the old human way, Corrie, god can give us the perfect way."
I hope i have this kind of wisdom to share with my kids when they go through hard things!
If you know the rest of the story you know it's a hard one. And Corrie would remember this lesson later on. She says,
"I did not know, as I listened to Father's footsteps winding back down the stairs, that he had given me more than the key to this hard moment. I did not know that he had put into my hands the secret that would open far darker rooms than this, places where there was not, on a human level, anything to love at all."
I have some awards to pass on. It always give me warm fuzzies when some one passes an award on to lil' ol' me! It makes my day!
Since I can't pass them on to everyone. I'm going to pass them on to people that i haven't given one to yet.
Wow, we had a great response to the giveaway. Thanks to all who entered. But sadly we can only have one winner. And according to Random.org that winner was entry #7.
Number Seven was...
Congratulations!
Thanks again for entering and for asking some good questions.
It was fun to meet some new people and their blogs. As a result I ended up with more blogs on my reader!
If you want to follow along with this crazy family of ours feel free to add your picture to that group of good looking people right over there on the sidebar ------>
If you didn't win this time don't worry. There will be more chances. Remember I still have to do my pay it forward giveaway.

So Elijah watched Ice Age 3 and I had to laugh at his reactions! He was so funny! If you've seen the movie you know the part where Sid and his three rescued eggs are rolling down the mountain. Poor E. looked really concerned and was saying "oh no!" and "His other egg!"

This week's theme at I ♥ Faces is “Nostalgia”.
I was browsing through my old pictures and came to the ones from August 2007 when we first moved into our house in Florida. They brought back so many good memories and feelings.
Oh, i miss it. Those pictures definitely brought back some nostalgic feelings for me!
This picture of Elijah was taken a day or two after we moved in. A friend came to visit and brought him a new toy. We didn't have living room furniture yet so he had lots and lots of room to pull it around in there!

They also have smaller items and home decor.
