Our 1st Meeting

This is the church in Lurgan that Geoff and I spoke at last night.

Our pastor has lined up about 13 different meetings for us to share at before December. He said there might be a couple more but he'll let us know.

It was a wonderful church to have our very first deputation meeting at because the people were so supportive and the pastor was great too.

I have to thank you all again for your support as well. As I was preparing I remembered what you said about just being myself and sharing my heart so that's what i did and it was so much easier and better than getting up and rattling off a memorized speech or something like that.

Geoff and I shared our testimonies and our story since we'd never been to this church before and they didn't know us. Then we showed a 5 minuet video i'd put together. I can't show it to you on here. You'll just have to come to one of our meetings! =) Then we did a little presentation that shows the roles and need of support missionaries. It got the people involved too and that was fun. As first they weren't sure because it's not normally what they do a prayer meeting but they soon warmed up and were good sports about it. And afterwards they said they enjoyed it.

When we got home everything was wonderfully quiet. We had left the boys at home with a friend. It was the first time Ethan's been left behind! I was worried about the boys going to bed smoothly for her but even that was ok! (Alicia, Ethan's sleep training must be paying off!)

We got home late. The prayer meetings run from 8-9:30 and then we stayed to talk to people after and then we had the drive home.

And tonight we do it all over again at another church! I'm praising God for his peace and his goodness to us. He is good.

That's wonderful!! I am so glad that you just spoke from your heart and 'kept it real'!! :) I knew that people would respond better to that, than something more rehersed, so-to-speak. I will continue lifting you up in prayer as you make your presentation in other churches. May God's peace be with you at each meeting!! <><

Blessings and Hugs!

Evan and I will keep you both in our prayers as you have these speaking opportunities.

Your passion for wanting to go and serve and your love of the Lord always shine through so never be nervous! (I mean, who couldn't like you guys?)

You are giving people the opportunity to join in the work. Not everyone can or is willing to pull up stakes and go. Supporting those who do is a way to partner not only with them but share in God's heart for the world. Every prayer partner and financial supporter shares in the fruit that comes!

We love you!

I'm so happy that you are feeling encouraged and at peace. You are resting in our Father's hands, knowing you are doing His work--can't get much better than that!
