We had a good time with our family and friends on Saturday. Last year we were away on a trip and he was so young we decided to wait until he was a bit older and could enjoy it more. So this year was special because it was his first party! My dad, mom, brother and grandma came as well as Jesse and Sherri, Elijah's adopted aunt and uncle. =)
He was kind of grouchy before everyone came since it was his nap time. But once every one came he was running around showing off his big yellow balloon and red fire hat! Food was on the table so we snacked and some of us sat outside for a while before opening gifts and cake.
Elijah didn't eat much. He was to busy running around outside with Uncle Jesse and catching bugs...
This is Jesse... he was so good with Elijah and I know Elijah had a blast with him. I'm not sure who was worn out first, they both did a lot of running around!Sherri and Jesse brought him a remote control school bus that he just loves! It's easy enough for him to control, it just takes a degree in engenering to get the batteries into it!
He also got books, a piggy bank, stuffed Elmo, clothes and money for a zoo pass and more! Wow! I can't wait to take him to the zoo! I think he'll really like that.
At first he didn't know that all the gifts were for him. He must have remembered Christmas where we all got gifts because he started handing the presents out to everyone! Didn't take him long though once he realized they were all his!
Here he is blowing out the candles on his "cake". I made an ice cream cake, half vanillia and half chocolate. Crunched up oreos were on the bottom and top. Then I put a couple new little fire trucks on top.
I tried to get a picture of him in his new outfit from his great grandma but this seems to be the only speed he's going at right now. =) Must be that ice cream!
I'm putting a slide show together with more pictures. So that's coming soon! But for now i'm going to bed. It's been a long day of deep cleaning the house and keeping track of "Dash".
We just watched The Incredibles the other day and I think that's a good name for Elijah.
Hope you all are having a great week.
Love ya.
