We used to have to wake them up on Christmas morning but this year the boys were out of bed by themselves by 6:30. Good thing their daddy was already up and had the coffee ready. :)
We open stockings first. Then have breakfast. The boys get those little boxes of cereal in their stockings. Their appetites are growing though so we may have to do full size cereal boxes next year. haha!
Then after breakfast we read the Christmas story and open gifts.

Geoff had us in stitches when he appeared with his crazy light up Christmas sweater and Santa hat. He wore it all day and we couldn't take anything he said seriously as long as he was wearing it.

We were done opening gifts and were working on dinner prep when the sun finally rose.
We called our families and even got to talk to Andrew in Africa. He laughed and said seeing Geoff in his crazy sweater was a Christmas highlight. It was a highlight for all of us I think! :)
It was a good day. Though we did miss being with extended family.
There's something about being together on this special day.
