Rocking the Sanford Zoo

The boys and I took my mom and niece to the zoo yesterday.

Our favorite animals were the river otters.
We agreed that our favorite places were the petting zoo and the splash pad.

It was a beautiful day, if a bit hot, and we had a good time together.

Mr Canon and I had a good time together. I kept him busy and he gave me crisp clear pictures of our fun time together which I will treasure forever.

The splash  pad in the zoo. A wonderful place to cool off during these hot Florida summers!

Father's Day Gift Idea

photo canvas,

I saw this idea for a Father's Day gift on a blog I really like called I Can Teach My Child.
She even has a video on her post showing how to add text to a photo.

I'm having this printed on a canvas for Geoff for Father's day.

Canvas People are my favorite place to get photo canvases printed. I've had a few canvases done in the past and each one comes out beautifully. They offer great sales which I keep an eye out for.  Like them on Facebook and get a free 8x10 (just  pay shipping).

Adopt a Pet Get a Friend for Free!

Mama cat keepin' good care of her babies.

The kittens are nearly 8 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes.

As sad as we will be to see them go I know their new families will enjoy them so much.

They are so cute and playful now and it's fun to watch them wrestling with each other, playing with their mama's tail or just piled on top of each other napping in the sunshine.

I thought i'd post some recent pictures for those who are interested and also their gender.

This handsome little one is a male.
He's playful and adventurous.
Elijah calls him Snowy.
The first half of him is tabby but lightens to gray along his back and tail.

Female:
She's one of the smaller ones and can be a bit shy at first.
But she loves to play and is a smart little girl.

Female.
This little sweetie is my favorite one.
She just loves to be held and will fall asleep in your arms.
She looks the most like her mama.

Female.
She's the smallest of the group with beautiful white and black markings.
She's really sweet and a little shy.
Elijah calls her Oreo.

Female.
She's such a beautiful long haired princess.
So soft and cuddly. She is pitch black and fades to white along her back. So unique!
Ethan's calls her "my best buddy" and holds her all the time so she is used to kids and is really patient with him. She is happy to sit in your lap and will give you lots of love.
Update on the Fluff Ball here. After the recent bath we gave the kittens I think she may in fact be a he.

If you are interested give me a call, text or email. Just leave a comment below and i'll send you my info if you don't already have it.

You're welcome to come visit and check them out.

There's lots more pictures on my facebook album "free kittens".

Family from Far Away

These sweet little girlies are my cousins.
Their family is visiting from Missouri this week and we got to spend some special time with them.

I miss living in Missouri and being able see them on Sunday afternoons, going to their birthday parties or just spending time at the house. Thankfully they come down to Florida once or twice a year now so we're still able to see them.

We spent one beautiful afternoon at the beach, swimming, jumping waves and digging in the sand.

One afternoon I got Anna all to myself.
She stayed here at my house while her mom and dad took her big sister and my boys to Daytona Beach and go carting. Elijah was thrilled to be tall enough now to drive his own go cart! Watch out world!

We played with the kittens, read books, drank hot coco with lots of marshmallows and enjoyed the time together just the two of us.

Exceeding Abundantly Above

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Ephesians 3:20

Ya'll won't believe what just happened! God who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I can ask or even think showed me again today that this is more than just a words on a page.

Let me back up. You know that my favorite camera my Nikon DSLR camera suddenly stopped working back in November. I think I simply wore it out. I had used it nearly every day for the past six years and never had a problem. It's been a long seven months with out my trusty sidekick.

Geoff very kindly bought me a point and shoot camera for Christmas which I was so thankful for and it was a nice little camera but I was frustrated nearly to tears many time over the slow shutter speed. That sounds ridiculous but it was true! It would be like you going back to dial up after having high speed internet for six years. Most of my photos were coming out blurry and it was hard to get nice pictures inside or with low light.

I missed my Nikon something terrible.

Then this morning on their way to the beach my friends Jesse and Sherri stopped by. I've taken their family photos a few times in the past and had used Jesse's Canon for the photo shoots. Jesse knows a lot about cameras so I wanted to get his input on some camera questions.

So he pulls out his Canon EOS 40D and says "You've taken picture with this before so you know how to use it and you'll take good care of it". And then he put the camera in my hands. At least I think that's what he said because my mind was sort of in shock and my eyes were filling up fast when he put the camera in my hands and smiled.

Yes, they gave me their Canon. Just like that. I was shocked too! Blown away is more like it and incredibly blessed!

This is huge and means so much to me, you have no idea.

So if i sort of disappear for the next few weeks days you'll probably be able to find me out with my new friend Mr Canon, getting acquainted and taking pictures.

I'm so excited! This camera is lightning fast. It can take up to three photos a second!

Remember, God "is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think."

First picture with my new camera. My mother's day flowers.

Thank you Jesse and Sherri. You guys are amazing and "thank you" just doesn't seem to cover it. Thank you though for trusting me with your camera and I hope I can bless others with it the way you blessed me today.

The Best Kind of Day

Saturday was fantastic!

We joined some other couples in Ormond Beach for the day.

There was food.Oh the food.
One of the ladies is from the Philippians and she brought these home made spring rolls. They were amazing and I may or may not have eaten my weight in them.

Take your pick. There was swimming in the ocean and a pool. We did both!

We enjoyed some miniature golfing.

Nice technique Elijah!
He actually did got a hole in one on this shot.

We all enjoyed spending some quality time with Geoff.
He works so hard we don't see much of him through the week so we really soak up our time with him on the weekends.
